We writers who blog for The Word Guild were asked to say a bit about ourselves.
I am a 64-year-old science writer who now lives in Ottawa, formerly Toronto. I first got into it because naturalism (= nature is all there is) dominates the science news media. Science writers’ job seemed to be to promote this stuff and not ask critical questions.
I’ve suggested we lose the pom poms and start asking them.
Many Christians just say never mind, the truth is all in the Bible. Okay. But that doesn’t speak to the damage done to a culture when nonsense (ET is out there but he is hiding, there are millions of universes, life can just somehow pop into existence, human intelligence is just souped up animal intelligence) is marketed and funded by taxpayers as “science.”
Recently, based on over a decade of reading science news, I have been writing about whether there is good evidence for this purely natural origin of our universe, of life, of human beings, or the human mind.
No.
And a couple of free guided tours helps explain how and why people came to suppose that there ever was.
The Science Fictions Series at Your Fingertips gets you quickly into the cosmology series and the origin of life series.
I am about to start a Human evolution series, looking critically at claims for a fully natural account of human evolution, and will keep readers posted.
Looking for a place to feel inspired and challenged? Like to share a smile or a laugh? Interested in becoming more familiar with Canadian writers who have a Christian worldview? We are writers who live in different parts of Canada, see life from a variety of perspectives, and write in a number of genres. We share the goal of wanting to entertain and inspire you to be all you can be with God's help.

Denyse, your prodigious research, persistent logic and insistence on evidence, while garnering negative response from some, will undoubtedly cause others to think deeply. Surely in time it will lead to the opening of minds and receptive hearts -- and 'better' science. ~~+~~
This is great. I have never been convinced by the "evidence" for evolution or for an old earth but it has become dogma, was as early as when I was in high school in the 60's. It is tedious to have the stuff shoved at you with high volume speakers so no one can get a rational word in edgewise. So I love it when someone dares to question the powers that be in this area. I will be praying for your success in this endeavor.
